    I've just been scammed...

    Well, i found a guy on markee to do a legit trade, and the deal was : my horde rogue was his alliance rogue.

    However, my rogue was on my main's account (alliance paladin) and i wanted get an alliance rogue onto his realm, so i thought that it'd be cheaper to buy a blank account and xfer it over.

    So, this guy helped me do it (my first time) abd once i had given him the info, he gave methe info, all sounded good...untill he said "horde mage right".

    I said, "no, alliance rogue on sporeggar" then he started syaing "oh shit, i traded that yesterday".

    I demaded my account back, and he sais "i cant do that, i love it too much, but take the mage". I said how i want happy with the mage and that i wanted my rogue back. He refused.

    He then blocked me, and now im left with a mage that he didnt actually change the email to mine, despite me having all the info (so, its basically useless.)

    In your opinion, what should I now do

    (bear in mind, i just spent ~£40 on WoW cd key, BC key and transfer fee)

    +rep for those who give sensible suggestions.

    oh and also, i used my card to pay the 1st month, i was wondering, will this continue to bill me every month? or was it a 1-off?

    well its your fault tbh, before trading an account you SHOULD log into it and try the character for yourself, now I suggest you buy a new cd key & tbc, make the name & last name the same as ur rogues account, call blizzard and tell them u changed the email by mistake, they will change it back to yours, transfer the char to a new account so he can't do the same.

    did you cancel the subscription on the account before trading it?

    really stuck for options right now...

    thing is, he had high post count on markee, no bad comments..+ he was willing to give the mage to me.

    I refused it and asked for my rogue back, he then was like "i got druid you can have blah blah", ofc, i refused again, sternly asking for my rogue back.

    And now he's changed the pass on the mage, so i'm literally left with nothing

    no, what i did was transfered the character that was on my main's account onto a blank, but to activate the blank, i had to pay 1st month..

    I havnt touched it since, so, would the payment continue?

    i don't think u have another choice tbh, coz even if u get it back, he can just phone blizz and tell them to change the email again since he knows ur full name, sq/a etc..
    also its better to spend another £40 and get ur char back than getting nothing

    im sorry to say it, but you need to call blizzard tell them you've been hacked and now they need to change the email and password, then buy another account with the same last name but not the same sq/a and xfer it fast to the other account so the scammer wont get your rogue when he will get back the account

    £40? It's £7 for standard WoW, then £19 for TBC from PC World, save yourself a bit of cash if you go there mate. Hope you get your account back.

    Also, this may seem wierd, but what the hell do I say when i call up blizz? do I admit that i was trading and he scammed me? or do i say that I was hacked.

    Remember, the email was changed to his, so if i bring up the 'i was hacked' excuse, they might just say "well, you changed email to his.."

    The account was hacked, never admit to trading it. Tell them that your email is similar and you misspelled it now you want to change it to a new one. Also after you get your rogue back. Call your credit company and file a fraud dispute on the charges from World of Warcraft. They'll put the account on frozen access and the guy will have to send in a money order to get "his" rogue back even though you already have it.
