Hi. I thought I would share this with you guys. A guy who works as a blizzard GM on the somethingawful forums answers questions. http://archives.somethingawful.com/s...readid=2334176
Here are some interesting tidbits pulled from the thread...
If someone is reported for harassment etc, do you actually have logs of all the tells and says from that character?
"Yes, though it's something of a pain to look up. There are also ways to cheat the system and "black out" your conversations, which can block us from doling out punishments since we need a verifiable trail and circumstantial evidence of any stripe is worthless (and gets us fired). No, I won't tell you how to do it."
"You have marks of bad behavior tied to your account (not your character). Secondary marks fill up to a certain level and only result in temporary suspensions of three hours, though once that level is breached it s***** over into the primary category. So, say, indecency could give you two marks out of a ten-mark limit. Past a certain number, you start racking up three-hour suspensions. Your first offense, usually irregardless of seriousness, is a freebie.
Primary marks are given when you're out of secondary marks or if you do really bad stuff. Scamming, giving out personal information, racial viiolence, etc. This results in day-long suspensions. Very rarely will we close an account (only if you've been a repeat offender or do anti-ToS stuff like gold advertising).
Marks are cleared every 6 months."
