Emerald Dream/The Snowy Plains

If anyone has been to the Emerald Dream on a Private Server or a Live Server then you probably know about the un texturized green area that doesnt have a zone name? Well I was in that area when i decided to go check on my Account Creation page for my private server and i noticed the zone was called
"The Snowy Plains" I just thought that was cool to know the zone name and that it was supposed to have snowy texture instead of grass and flowers. I also have seen alot of people working on Zone Changes for this zone so if your designing one there is a hint towards the texture. =)

cool, heard blizz has been working hard on ED, but scrapping alot of their ideas.
How did you find the name of it again?

If you make an account creation page it shows the zone the characters are in and i was in that area and i looked on my account creation page and the zone was called "The Snowy Plains"

Im not sure that it is actually called Snowy Plains.. Im sure blizz just filled in a random ZONEid because they dont have a name for it.. And your account creation page just goes to the first availible ZONEid matching the point you are at therefore it thinking you are in "The Snowy Plains"

yeah, sorry man, but that glossy non textured green you are seeing isnt the texture. disable your shader effects to really see it. + if you go into noggit you can see the real textures. ontop of that --- if you go into the texture files -- not one single texture labeled anything to do with ED has snow on it. theres a reason they call it emerald dream man, lol, think green.

The only zone names confirmed to possibly be in the ED are Eye of Ysera and The Nightmare. But being based on lore, why would there be snow in ED...?

As you all should know by now the Emerald Dream is an exact Replica of azeroth in size and dimension ... the only thig that is differant is that in the Emerald Dream it has progressed without the impression of man (basic generalization for all races). The Emerald Dream was also to be a Safe Haven for the Druid class being as they could seemlessly pass to the other realm without the disturbance of the Dragons, leaving them safe. ( hence in the third game when you had to awaken Malferion Stormrage (brother of Illidan) he was pulled from the emerald dream) But The Emerald Dream will probably be opened in the expansion after The Wrath of the Lich King (BTW looking forward to the Death Knight class hooah).

btw what do i do to my shading effects to be able to see texture?

On occasion in my model edit version of ED the green glossy headache of doom was actually matte and purple and green somewhat like Teldrassil textures.
I'll hunt for some screen caps.
