Hello explorers!
I've been fooling around a bit more with eye of killrog and found yet another trick that holds potential for exploring. This trick requires you to be level 90, so you can take the Kil'jaeden's Cunning - Spell - World of Warcraft talent (ability to cast while moving). The fun part about this talent is that it also allows you to cast while falling.
Basically, if you finish the cast while still falling, you'll stop mid-air and summon your eye. This has a few nice things to it:
- You can place a portal nearby, if possible, port there and avoid all fall damage
- You can cancel the cast and only take the fall damage from where you stopped in mid-air
BUT the biggest trick that explorers will like involves the slow fall the eye has. This allows it to get to potentially unreachable places and placing a portal there that is not out of range. I haven't come across any of these situations, but the hunt is on! Here's a first screenshot, I'll post more when I find more use of this trick.
