I took the liberty to categorize all of the quotes from the puzzle box to see if there might be something we over looked, and from what I saw there are 3 categories in which the quotes fall under.

This might not help at all, but maybe going back over some of the clues the box gives, will open a new perspective on this research. There has got to be some sequence of events that have to take place during that 10 seconds of delay between clicking the box and having it whisper you in order to open the box, I would assume.
