Behind the Ragefire Chasm instance portal

Search terms used when checking for duplicates: "Ragefire" "Chasm" "RFC".
Returned this which is how to do it in a pre-Cataclysm Orgrimmar.

Hello everyone, I'm very much an "armchair explorer" for the most part, but I was messing around in Orgrimmar recently and found a way to get behind the RFC instance portal.

It's hardly game-breaking, I know, but I've been meaning to contribute for a while now and this seemed a decent start. Unlike other instances (eg: Uldaman) the floor and walls here are solid, making it a nice little cooking/RP-ing/chilling-out area.

    Cheers,
    illas

PS: Please watch in HD if you get the chance, I'd really appreciate some feedback re: the quality and presentation.

I have to say, the first thing that struck me about your video was not the exploration - which is (and you'll probably agree) fairly straightforward, but still quite cool - but the editing of the video.

It is very well edited. Some people may think that this requires you to do all kinds of fancy things with camera angles, zooms and etc, but in my opinion, no. You have hit that rare balance of doing exactly the RIGHT amount of editing - everything was crisp and well presented, yet understated and just well...clean. It was exactly perfect for the exploration you were trying to show.

Someone could've done the exact same exploration, the exact same recording of the footage - and presented it with very little editing, and i would've gone "Oh well, they've contributed, but it's a simple exploration, no big deal, I'll maybe throw 1 rep their way for their effort".

It is the presentation of the footage that truly MAKES this kind of short exploring video.

Oh and incidentally, I guess you are referring to behind the main Uldaman portal when you refer to it not being "solid"? As the main 'back' portal area (ie. the Echomok Cavern area) is completely solid in its flooring - as well as being awesome with chairs, campfires and etc.

I hope to see some more explorations from you in the future man! I was once, like you, an 'armchair explorer', so to speak - yet I think you have good potential...I have but one thing to say to you...

    ...Keep exploring!

P.S. Thanks for your very kind comments on my videos on Youtube over the past few months, it's people like you that keep me going!

Edit: I have to spread some reputation around before giving to you again Illas - but when I can, you have +2 rep coming your way!

Firstly, thanks! Such kind words coming from a pro is wicked

For future videos I'll try and keep a similar style regarding presentation (I was aiming for clear, clean and precise), but as you say, hopefully find more interesting content to present!

Yes, I was referring to your exploration of behind the Uldaman portal - the section with the bench that is solid and the floors which are not. As for the "kind comments", they're sincere: your kind of exploration videos are what keep me interested in exploration week to week.

    Thanks again, Mr StrangleTusk!
PS: double capitalization of StrangleTusk for the win :P

I'm thought of as a pro, by you at least? Well that IS a surprise - a welcome one, mind you :P

Aye, your style of presentation is decent. I recommend if you go for some more fiddly/tricky explorations, however, that you include some explanations in your videos - people will appreciate it, as sometimes, an idea of what was going through your head when you were attempting a harder exploration can make all the difference.

But yeah, keep up the good work man!

And please, just call me Strangle or Tusk (or even Strangletusk), - the combination of the capitals of S and T has been somewhat copyrighted earlier by Trokair :P
