Can't Swim to Eversong?

I was Attempting to swim around the Western Plaguelands as a Shortcut to Silvermoon for the recent Holiday Achivement. As a was Approaching the Ghostlands the terrain started to head toward the center of ghostlands and then back around to the Eastern Plaguelands.

My theory is that for some reason that whole area of the map is actually above the original WoW's map so where I was swimming was like the area under Stormwind.

Does anyone know or can confirm what is going on?

Ghostlands is part of TBC. It's not part of Classic WoW.

Silvermoon and the rest of the blood elf areas are instanced from eastern kingdoms, thats why you cant swim to them.

True fact. Silvermoon, Eversong Woods, Ghostlands, Azuremyst & Bloodmyst is actually not where they are supposed to be. They're actually in Outlands.
This might be a little hard to understand, but imagine that you're standing outside Razorfen Kraul.
When climbing the mountains which surrounds it, you won't be ablet to fall into Razorfen. It'll just be a large hole. A placeholder.
When entering the portal, you'll get yanked into the instance, but you can't enter The Barrens from there.

It's the same principe.

If i remember correctly when you are in party with someone in ghostlands while you are in outlands the arrow of your partymember (where he is) is somewhere northeast of netherstorm. You cant fly there cause there is an invicible wall surrounding outland.

But i am pretty curious how there gonna do this in catalysm. Then you can fly over the instance portal towards the plaguelands.

Possibly a giant instance portal around the border from the floor to the skybox?

Currently there is a invisible wall after a lot of fatigue along the water. However with third party hacking programs, it's possible to get from azuemyst/ghostlands to outlands because it's on the same server.

They're on the same continent as The Outland. One interesting trick you can do is by means of the exploit which allows you to fly directly from one flight path to another, take a trip from Shattrath to Silvermoon City. You'll see quite a few trippy things along the way, and possibly die of fatigue (while on a wyvern, no less.)
