[Mystery] Map Location

Hello, basically i was recently bemused whilst trying to explore something i noticed on the wow map.

Looking south of AQ i noticed the strange orange blobs naturally curious i thought id take a journey there and check it out, but was left slightly confused when i found nothing but a odd shadow..



Checked around the area a few times and i'm pretty confident im in the exact location but i see nothing here

I tryed to check from wat patch the interactive map was taken from but had no luck, maybe the map was taken from a earlier patch and whatever was there has been removed. If any1 does know wat exactly this is or when abouts this map data was taken we might b able to check to see wat exactly these orange things are :P

The color made me think of AQ... those eggs and nest things are usually orange... the shadow could be some sort of tentacle. (shadows are commonly painted on the ground below an object)

I believe they are eggs. South of AQ, there's a giant "plain" of sand dotted with ruins, and one spot has eggs a lot like the sporeggar ones in Zangarmarsh, but they are orange. Might be those?

I know which place u mean alot of orange eggs, but its north of here within AQ. The orange marks could be eggs but they are quite large dont u think..

Thats nearly the same orange, correct, but I think, his orange looks a little more like a "phoenix-orange". I don't mean, that there are phoenix eggs ore something phoenix like ( xD ), I only mean, that this has another colour
And that are too big point for being eggs, i mean. Or blizzard had tested there bigger eggs, how they look and if they should take a smaller size or a bigger size. It's realy mysterious!

Hmm, well if you look closely at the first picture, you can see there is a slight distortion in a rectangle surrounding the orange blobs, almost as if something was copied and pasted in on top of the terrain. However, if it is with a patch, It's probably one post-2.3, as Mudsprocket, the goblin town added in 2.3, is on that file. If someone wants to use their private server to look into this, we might find something.

Distortion is just different terrain for different zones on the map.

I dont think you can compare the color between the two pictures posted here since they are from so different sources. :/

Perhaps those orange dots on first map were located high up in the air so you couldnt find them there? maybe :P

This could certainly be plausible... Northwest of the area, the map shows a bunch of pillars. However, if you go there in-game, the pillars are nonexistant, and not even on the minimap. Could it be that those structures and orange dots are somehow related?

sorry for necro, but I found an answer x)
when I saw this thread, then the feeling that somewhere, these points I had already saw. Yesterday I found confirmation of my conjecture. it's part of the ancient minimap, since preTBC.
