Aye this is correct. I tried telling a few Guildies about MMOwned a week or two ago and after much frustration, found removing the www. and just using MMOwned.com worked fine

Yeah, the same thing happened to me I was with a (exploration) buddy I found on the game. So, I whispered him seeing as it was a good occasion to ask him "Have you ever been to www.mmowned.com." Except it wouldn't let it go through so I thought I might get banned but never did .
