Cap AB (arathi basin) flags from 10-15yrds away (hide in bush and cap)

This may be related to the changes that allow capping in AV through walls.

Basically, in Arathi Basin - you need to be in "melee" range to cap a flag. Either next to it or very close to it.


Today while playing alliance i noticed we kept losing flags even though we didn't see a capper on it.

Turns out the capping range has been extended.


So whats the exploit? 6):

Go to a node with a group of 3 people - preferably stealth - have 2 try to cap it - and you hide in the bush near the flag and cap it while people dont pay attention toyou.

sure people will catch on and figure this out - but by the time they figure out there is a 3rd person capping they've lost the flag.

you can cap this while being out of AOE range as well

I think that you comfuse it with farseer

no - you dont cast any spells - its just the radius of the flag has increased.

any class and any faction can do this.

did YOU manage to do this without using farseer?

yes i could do it without farseer

i did this on my paladin, druid and warlock.

next time you see an enemy flag try to cap it standing sorta far away - you now dont have to stand right next to it anymore

i heard that they fixed this in 2.03(or w/e the patch that came out a few days ago is) but i have not confirmed it

Fixed as of yesterday, sadly! This worked on everything, including boss fights like Vael (eggs) and Osso (crystals).

Was nice while it lasted. (;
