I tried it but it didnt work, i might have misunderstood it but no exp was gained and the item reward gives nothing.

I tried it but the mission he was on about gives 30k exp. It also costs 50 resources to send the mission and 20 resources to re-reqruit the follower that dies everytime.

Basically only do this if you have 1000s of spare resources somewhere and want to spend 100+ hours going from 100 to 110.

This is often how it is with dupes. People generally think of cloning spectral tigers and stuff, but in actuality most dupes underperform standard methods of play.

Consequently most aren't terribly interesting to many players. Of course, if you can find some angle to take advantage of a situation that appears on the surface to be unspectacular, then you can really clean up.
