    Group exploit

Ok, I've searched the forum, blah blah, couldn't find anything. I found this on my own yesterday.

This exploit is used when you want a buff from a class which requires the buffer to be in the same group and you can't find anyone who's willing to be in the same group as you for the next hours although you have the class needed on your own account. For exeple you need a soulstone or dampen magic. I'm sure there are other uses, but the main idea is that you can buff the party with buffs that require the buffer to be in the party.

Let's say your main is a mage and you want a soulstone. No warlock is nearby and you happen to have a level 18 warlock alt on your account (but you can't be online with both to buff the other). This is how you do it:

You need help from someone else. Anyone will do the trick. Just form a party with someone. You don't have to be near each other.

You also need an addon like AtlasLoot. Other addons works as well. The idea is that you need to link something that hasn't dropped on your server yet. I use to link Warglaive of Azzinoth (drop from Illidan). An addon like lootlink that just register the links that you come accross when you play wont work. You need unsafe links.

Now, form the party. Now you're in a party with let's say a warrior. Make sure the warrior is group leader! Place your mage near the place where you have your alt warlock logged out. Link Warglaive of Azzinoth in any chat channel and you will be instantly disconnected. Quickly write your password (I have "remember account name" activated to save time) and log into your warlock alt. When you are logged in you get an invite to the party from the warrior, and you will see that your mage isn't logged out yet. Quickly buff the mage with the soulstone. Now link Warglaive of Azzinoth with your warlock and you will be disconnected again. Do not log out regularly because then your lock will leave the group. There! Now you can log back in on your mage and voilá! You are in the same party as your warlock alt and you are soulstoned! If you kick the warlock you will loose your soulstone. the warrior can be kicked though :P

This should work with other buffs that require the buffer to be in the same group, like dampen magic or amplify magic, but I haven't tried that yet. It will also work with other buffs that doesn't require the buffer to be in the same party. Like Powerword: Fortitude. If so, you can skip the part when your alt gets invited by the warrior (yes, that means that you don't need help from anyone to do it). Just buff the normal way. It also works if you want to make a portal with your mage to aid your alt. I'm sure you can figure out how to do that on your own :P

    Have fun ^^

I suppose this would work if you have a really fast machine that is able to suspend the WoW process, instantly start it up again, so you can log in and etc?

Maybe you're not fast enough. I manage to disconnect myself, write the password, and log back in before the char gets disconnected. I dunno how many seconds the char is online. I started counting from when I pressed my macro to link the warglaive and stopped counting when my alt was logged out ( I have my alt on my contacts list to check this). I counted 54 seconds. So that's the time you have on doing this.

I don't have a very fast machine, but if I understand you correctly you are talking about ending the WoW process and start up the client again? If so I don't think you have the time of doing that. My WoW client takes maybe 20-30 secs for starting up and if you read the above, seconds are precious :P So just use the unsafe link and you should be fine. On my computer the unsafe link takes about 2-3 seconds before I come to the login page so it's a real time saver.

Yeah, it's an easy way, but still, it could be done easier, yet only in theory.
Well, I'll remember it.. dunno how much use I'll have for it though lol.

You can use ALT-F4 if his method doesn't work.
Look at your post, now back to mine; Now back to your post, now back to mine. Sadly, it isn't mine, but if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate content, it could look like mine. Look down, backup, where are you? You're scrolling through threads, reading the post your post could look like. What did you post? Back at mine; It's a reply saying something you want to hear. Look again and the reply is now diamonds.

Anything is possible when you think before you post. The moon is shrinking.

Then again, you will have to restart the client. I know about the alt-f4 method. I just posted the unsafe link method to save you the seconds you need to get invited to the party, conjure a soulstone and apply it. Even with the unsafe link you only have a few seconds. It can be hard to make it if you have to restart the client as well.

    Re: Group exploit

i havent tried this out yet, but you should be able to open 2 wow windows at the same time, and then log into your alt from the second window.. Your main will then get disconnected on the first window... This safes you the time of opening a new wow window after doing alt+f4

    Re: Group exploit

What I did to soulstone myself (Soloing chess ftw!) was the following:

Open 2 WoW clients, log on the character that you want to soulstone/buff.
Log on to your buffing alt and park him close to your other character.
Log back on to your main, and while still logged in, open the 2nd WoW Client and log in.
Then quickly while logged in on the 2nd WoW Client, hop on your alt and you should be able to buff yourself.

Doing it this way "mostly" rules out having a slow PC.
