"Gather 1000 soul fragments within The Trial of Valor Raid"

No need - Go to the south coast of Stormheim and farm Cursed Sea Dog mobs, Helarjar Marauders & Hellhounds.

Did a search and nothing came up - please delete if this is old news, noticed it today doing the world quest in the area.

*Update* The fragments stopped dropping once I killed the 10 mobs required for the world quest - still better than nothing.

This is totally working as intended - you can only obtain them until the quest is finished.

I wonder if you were in a raid group(no quest progression) and farmed them if they would continue to drop?

This quest requires you to kill 10 Helarjar AND kill Vaettfang. About a month ago i read about this guy who figured out he can obtain fragments this way, so what he did is farm Vaettfang for 3 days, which appeared to be enough for 1000 fragments. He said he was being careful not to kill any Helarjar in the process. Turns out if you kill 10 Helarjar the fragments will no longer drop, as mentioned above.

In case you didn't READ, the guy had a second replay where he clearly states its STOPed dropping after the 10 quest mob.... you guys are amazing =))))


ps: nice try, trying to farm them as well, found out few mins latter it doesn't drop anymore after the mobs are registered as killed.. what you can do is gather as many as possible and kill in same time but there's not so many at the same time

I'ts intended to drop from Helarjar mobs. The only part not intended here is the named quest mob who drops the quest item continuously but it's very slow. The guy has a 30-60 sec respawn timer and can drop only 0-1 fragments. If you have a free 3 days of farming him for the 1000 fragments just to obtain a transmog set that most of the playerbase already has, just do it.

Or you can do the normal way and grab the mog from LFR / normal / etc HoV through few weeks but without major pain. It's the worst grind that came up on OC for a while.
