For the pet battle enthusiasts, many have noticed how incredibly time consuming it will be to finish the [
Family Familiar] achievement. This requires that you must defeat each of the 15 pet battle trainers with full sets of pet battles all from the same class. I.E. a full team of humanoid pets, flying, magic and so on. There are 8 different classes of pets, and you typically will only get 1 trainer per day from the world quests. This means, it would take well over 200 days if you're lucky, to get the achievement. However there is a workaround at the moment!
Step 1. You need a level 110 character that
DOES NOT have world quests active yet. Basically you need to have the quest to get world quests, but not actually be friendly with all of the factions yet. It doesn't matter what faction you choose not to be friendly with, so long as you don't have world quests active and are 110 and have the quest to get the quests active. (I noticed this when I randomly stumbled upon one of the world quest pet battles when I was grinding up my friendly rep and I was able to do it over and over, then when I activated world quests, I was no longer able to do them over and over...So I leveled an alt to 110)
Step 2. Know which pet battle trainer is active for the day. You can use your main, or ask a friend what pet battles are up on that day. I.E. if Sir Galveston is the pet battle in Dalaran for the day or if it's another trainer somewhere else.
Step 3. Go to the trainer with your 110 that
DOES NOT have world quests active, and you can repeat the battle over and over again, and are not limited to doing just 1 per day. This means you can do 8 per day and still get credit towards the achievement in each category.
It's that simple. You can turn a 200+ day achievement into one that will take maybe 30 days as long as there aren't too many repeats of the same trainers. The benefit to finishing this faster is that you can knock out the achievement, and then use the fastest teams that quickly take down a trainer for the world quest reward on your main which saves time from the RNG teams that you have to use for the achievement. You can still do the world quest on your main, and come back on your alt and do the fight over and over. So far, using this method, I've been able to completely finish Robert Craig, Sir Galvenston, Xorvasc, and Bodhi Sunwayver. Now I can just skip them when they pop up if I don't care for the reward and not feel like I'm forced to fly back out there just to work on the achievement over and over. This is my first post, sorry if I wrote too much.
