[Family Familiar] Pet Battle Achievement much faster

For the pet battle enthusiasts, many have noticed how incredibly time consuming it will be to finish the [Family Familiar] achievement. This requires that you must defeat each of the 15 pet battle trainers with full sets of pet battles all from the same class. I.E. a full team of humanoid pets, flying, magic and so on. There are 8 different classes of pets, and you typically will only get 1 trainer per day from the world quests. This means, it would take well over 200 days if you're lucky, to get the achievement. However there is a workaround at the moment!

    Step 1.
You need a level 110 character that DOES NOT have world quests active yet. Basically you need to have the quest to get world quests, but not actually be friendly with all of the factions yet. It doesn't matter what faction you choose not to be friendly with, so long as you don't have world quests active and are 110 and have the quest to get the quests active. (I noticed this when I randomly stumbled upon one of the world quest pet battles when I was grinding up my friendly rep and I was able to do it over and over, then when I activated world quests, I was no longer able to do them over and over...So I leveled an alt to 110)

    Step 2.
Know which pet battle trainer is active for the day. You can use your main, or ask a friend what pet battles are up on that day. I.E. if Sir Galveston is the pet battle in Dalaran for the day or if it's another trainer somewhere else.

Step 3. Go to the trainer with your 110 that DOES NOT have world quests active, and you can repeat the battle over and over again, and are not limited to doing just 1 per day. This means you can do 8 per day and still get credit towards the achievement in each category.

It's that simple. You can turn a 200+ day achievement into one that will take maybe 30 days as long as there aren't too many repeats of the same trainers. The benefit to finishing this faster is that you can knock out the achievement, and then use the fastest teams that quickly take down a trainer for the world quest reward on your main which saves time from the RNG teams that you have to use for the achievement. You can still do the world quest on your main, and come back on your alt and do the fight over and over. So far, using this method, I've been able to completely finish Robert Craig, Sir Galvenston, Xorvasc, and Bodhi Sunwayver. Now I can just skip them when they pop up if I don't care for the reward and not feel like I'm forced to fly back out there just to work on the achievement over and over. This is my first post, sorry if I wrote too much.

Has this been fixed or is Varenne in Suramar different than the rest? I went to try this on the toon I've been doing all the other world quests on but he wont battle me. Anyone able to confirm if it's still working?

Varenne and Aulier are the two battles you will be unable to do using this method since you have to have unlocked the Suramar questlines/gotten the disguise in order to interact with them. However, they aren't required for the achievement, as you just need 12 of the trainers beaten, not all 15.

I suppose it might be possible to get the disguise through the questlines in Suramar so long as you're not friendly with at least one other faction, but chances are you're friendly with every zone's rep except Suramar by the time you're 110, and you have to keep it that way in order to not get World Quests activated.

Love the rigour and detail in this.

As I understand it using this method you can grind away at the same trainer again and again which should make it ultra-fast to level pets. A 25 vs a level 1 is about 3000G difference if you choose the right pets, which should make this quite lucrative. God knows how long this would have taken me to figure out the mechanics of this, thanks.

I just wing it when it comes to pet battles, do you have any tips on optimal levelling combos for a particular trainer?

Yeah, I thought that might be the issue. He wasn't hostile so I wasn't sure about needing the disguise but when I talked to him he just said stop bothering him. Figured I'd ask here. I managed to be 110 without being friendly with Dreamweavers or Nightfallen but I'm going to keep it that way as I have a feeling I'm much more likely to accidentally become friendly with Dreamweavers so I'll just avoid Suramar and do 12 different ones.

    This was a great find.

I hope 7.1 doesnt ruins this, because with 7.1 you doesnt have to be friendly to get wq, when you made this before with a other character.

    And nice find!

I found that Xu-Fu's Pet Battle Strategies has been extremely helpful in expediting the process of doing the trainers. Dazed and Confused and Adorable world quest in Azsuna was probably the easiest battle I've done so far with just a Teroclaw Hatchling and level 1 pets to power level.

I would say that it's a fairly safe bet that this method will no longer work come 7.1 since all your 110 toons will have world quests activated, and pet battles will likely remain account-wide instead of per toon. Sad to see it go, but I got about 100 extra battles that I wouldn't have otherwise.

A blue post stated you still need to complete a quest at Khadgar (just talk to him) to enable WQ's. So it might still work in 7.1
