Ok i dont know if this really helps but.. before you go into BG open up the Mailbox thing where u can send mail when u get to BG the mailbox thing is still there. Leave BG and u can send mail anytime now

lol i did this once on accident i was checking mail and AB popped and i went in and the mailbox xcreen was still there i was like WTF

i havent tested this but. since it works with the mailbox could it work with other things like. the trainer when u learn spells?

It doesn't work. UI stays up, functionality doesn't.
