Sick haste boost for mages and get really large

So I was questing this morning on my mage, and got the quest [Kill the Cultists] in dragonblight.
On this quest you shall kill a mob named "Anub'ar Cultist" and loot stuff from the mobs.

However, this mob has a spellstealable buff named "Zeal" (Zeal - Spell - World of Warcraft)
that increases you casting speed with 20% and increases your size.
The thing is that this buff stack infinitly so you can get really big and get a lot of haste! I throw almost instant frostfire bolts

    Hope this helps a bit!

PS. The mobs are in this area:

Remember discovering this a while back after tmanowen discovered something similar in the storm peaks.

Problem is that you can't really do very much with that, like most spellsteal stuff it doesn't zone out.

If you can find a way for the buff to impact some spell, ability or indeed pretty much anything which isn't removed by zoning, you may have a gamebreaker.

Mate, thank you for posting this. This is a similar buff to the one from the mobs in LBRS HC (cata).

    But this is no exploit.

An exploit would be, if you would be able to carry this buff into other areas and make great use of it. For example into BGs or even RBGS/Arenas.

In the past I recall people considered spellsteal an exploit if something stacked to ridiculous levels as this is generally something Blizzard don't intend to happen.

If nothing else, I imagine you could grind mobs in that area pretty effectively with the buff, which would be useful for levelling.

So to get this to work, you need to spell steal the buff from different mobs. Spell stealing the same NPC over and over again will just refresh the buff. You need to gather many mobs and spell steal them all. Another thing to note is that when I used a portal after getting about 10 of the buffs, all of them fell off. Either the buffs are Dragonblight-specific, or zoning world maps removes the them.

    Good luck.

Good point about refreshing mob-specifi buffs. It is quite an art stacking them fast enough.

Most buffs these days are zone-specific. There was a time (pre-cata) when you could take just some op buff and take it into arena or dungeon, but that doesn't happen now.

However, you might just be able to impact some ability with an overpowered buff and make use of that ability in much the same way. The best example of this was that amazing warlock who soloed the sha of anger a few years back-built up 100,000% haste, cast it on a portable training dummy, generating thousands of imps, which he then took out of the zone and killed the sha.
That approach can work around zoning problems.

I can't think of a way to use the haste in this particular zone to achieve a similar effect but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Additionally worth keeping an eye out for new items and abilities that might make this viable in the future.
