    Minor bug to increase DPS

Hello all, this is my first post on Owned Core so please be gentle <3

I was in Highmaul last night when it occurred to me that I hadn't ever used my Barov Lumberjack Caller ( Barov Lumberjack Caller - Item - World of Warcraft), so I used it and out came the Peons and Lumberjacks to help. The raid encounter was starting in any moment so I threw on my original trinket asap and I noticed that the Lumberjacks and Peons do NOT despawn and that they continue to remain around you even after taking off the trinket which summoned them. This is possibly exploitable for a minor (1k or more?) dps increase.

It's not much but it is something, and I can honestly say I found it!! yay!

How to get it: build a Lumber Mill and go harvesting lumber until you find a Fallen Tree. When you harvest this fallen tree you find a Barov under it (Weldon Barov for alliance and probably Alexi for horde), on rescuing him he offers a quest to become a follower. Returning to your garrison will find him at your lumber mill with another quest to find his brother and take his head (Reduction in Force), this rewards the trinket.

(FYI I searched and cannot find any references to this so i'm fairly certain this is an OP)

I have posted about this before, not here however. I took it down as it doesn't work. The Peons themselves do about 1k dps each and there is 5 of them, and can be activated in raids/used with your normal trinkets. However they will not attack the boss unless the boss is attacking you directly (aggro + melee attack). The only use for this is if tanks use it.

    Good write up.

Wouldn't consider this an exploit. It certainly isn't intended, but it isn't critical enough to warrant a hotfix. Now if they NEVER despawned and you could pool up like 20 of them, then you'd have an actual exploit. I'd actually like to see that. >_>

Appreciate the contribution and enjoy your stay here.

If they really do 1k DPS each and there are 5 of them... then 5k DPS as a passive Bonus on a boss for both tanks seems pretty solid for me
If you play a spec that can taunt in DPS (DKs), you can taunt for a second with defCDs up and the adds start hitting the boss... that's nothing minor, that way you can get an "extra DPS" which is pretty nice if you're progressing mythic... just dont log anything

+rep after I tested them myself

That made no sense bro. Doesn't matter how minor it is, it's still an exploit. Lovely post OP, exactly how a post should look like with a lot of information! +rep.

The only issue with this is the trinket you swap in before the pull will have an internal Cooldown before it can proc, which could fully negate the benefit you get.

"Hungry lumberjacks or peons come to your aid for 10 minutes."

Just wait and pull after the internal cooldown is gone.

The dps bonus you get from this will be a lot better than any trinket proc.

This is a great dps boost as 5k dps on a boss can be huge difference and best thing is you can look like a bad a** (as long as no one looks at the logs)
Also of note I'm sure they will activate on any boss that does raid damage, or liek a previous poster said just taunt the boss rq to activate them.
