Phasing onto a specific server without any tools

I am playing on a quite infamous german server where around 100 Russians do raid our shrine during the past 2 weeks 6 hours a day and we did wonder how Russians can phase onto our realm because there is no Horde on our realm and the game used to to phase people onto the realm where the majority of the group comes from. However with some trial and error, we found it out! With the release of the cross-realm LFG tool for the world bosses there was a bug where ppl joined groups for the Celestials and Ordos, however they were constantly phasing until Blizzard fixed this with a rather stupid fix.

If a player is invited cross-realm onto another server he we will stay on this specific server, no matter what, if the group leader is inviting him from the Timeless Isle which disables this phasing!

This means, that there is only one german Horde player on our Timeless Isle and he is inviting all the Russians who phase onto our realm rather than their servers.

I think that's been known for quite a while? The raid leader's realm is the realm all the players in the raid group will be phased into.

Like the others in the thread I'm having trouble understanding what you're saying OP. Are Russian players normally unable to play on German servers? I play US so yeah.

The point is that the system usually phases you onto the realm where the majority of the group comes from thus the 39 Russians should make the game phase them onto their russian realm rather than ours. Inviting ppl via Timeless Isle will prevent this and allows the Russians to be on our realm.

Nah! Prior to Timeless isle, as OP said, the server always had phased you in the server where the most players are present in the group(raid).
I have tested that hundred of times, while forming groups for Nalak/Oondasta.

But the Timeless isle change is rather weird, and its just like the OP described it:

If someone from Timeless isle invite you to CRZ group, he can invite tons of people from other server and the group will NOT phase to the most-players-present server anymore!
And that is not related to holding the current raid leader or not, its dependant only off the player who start the CRZ group.

and the character can even be level one and you still get phased. just brought a level 1 toon to the isle and my 90 got phased onto the realm of my level 1 alt . great way to farm rares/ random stuff on dead realms

hasn't it changed globally with the 5.4 patch?

I mean, I usually look for random pugs in oQ to check specific Outland rares and what I noticed a while ago, it does work the say way even if the leader is NOT on timeless isle. When I find a pug lets say World bosses where the leader is out there anywhere in Pandaria but the timeless isle then we used to change server to where the most players are present but for now it's not anymore and I remain the leader's realm no matter how many people from other realm has been invited.

an example:
- I got invited to "World bosses" raid from leader Folyhuck - EU-Minahonda (who is in Valley of the 4 winds at the moment)
- I see most people in the raid is from EU-Frostmane (in this case and prior to 5.4 we used to transition to Frostmane instantly)
- I'm on Outland (the lvl60-70 world which is a CRZ zone afaik) and I can see that we're still on Minahonda realm despite we got a huge amount of players from Frostmane.

Due to this I can imagine Blizzard changed this in 5.4 and no more auto-server-change happens. I will check it next time by traveling to the zone where they are.

dammit just realized there's no way to get a starter account to pandaria is there? Mage didn't work and I assume warlock won't either.

The lvl1 get ported to my main's realm.

Althought I tested with 1 on EU-en and the other on EU-fr realm, still dont think it changes anything, doesn't work with a lvl 1.

This isn't an exploit, it was specifically changed this way to remove resource squandering on the server side transitions of characters. Think about all the extra line of code to compensate weighting to a server by percentage of player base. Now think about how bad that code could likely be abused. While does seem like a silly fix, it's actually a quite elegant way to clean things up, especially when you consider that the weighting code is super irrelevant.

well for me it works.. i am on blackhand eu and change realms with level 1 chars.. i just tested a few realms and they all worked. the ones i tested were : teldrassil ( german ) perenolde ( german)
norgannon (german) the italien pve server with low pop and dalaran ( french) .

I also noticed the realm I created my lvl 1 has been "fused" to another realm to counter low pop realms.
Might be the cause.

Same result for me, it doesn't work with low level characters. Both characters were on eu high pop english pvp realms.
Unfortunately I cannot test it with lvl90 chars.
