Very simple: at the very end of the cast for your research, transfer the mats to your bank. You'll learn a new recipe but you will lose no mats. Tried it with alchemy and inscription, and both work and are reproducible.

I have 2 questions:

Will you still make whatever item you made, or will it just learn a new recipe? Lets say you make a scroll of wisdom, will it give you the scroll aswell without losing the mats?
Will you still get a 1 day cooldown on the research?

Couldn't you always call blizzard and explain to them that your were banking stuff while using your profession and say you didn't even notice? I don't see the point in not trying it once then if something does happen call them and tell them it was an accident. Ill do that when I get these professions to the sufficient level, and if it does work I will definitely +rep. Also Owneth, I'm not trying to come at you or anything I'm just wondering if you think that's viable, blizzard reps seem pretty understanding in the US maybe it's different in EU. :/
