Mages - Prevent getting wiped

At level 68 mages get a skill called invisibility;

If you cast it you will "fade" for 5 seconds. After those five seconds you will become invisible. But if anything hits you in the five seconds you're faded the effect will be canceled.

So, when your party is about to get wiped, just pop invisibility and start running away. After 5 sec you'll become invisible, the mobs will stop attacking you, and you wont die. While you're invisible run to a safe spot, and you're saved. This will save you some repair costs and a corpserun. Try to use frost nova and blink first, because if anything hits you in the 5 sec before you turn invisible, the effect will be cancelled.

I thought this was common knowledge, but haven't seen anybody use this except for me...

That's like saying rogues can cast vanish to escape enemies or hunters can feign death it's an ability that you get to do stuff like this, not really an exploit.

Hmm, every time my party wipes and i live people ask me "Omg, why are u still alive!?". Also i have never seen another mage use this. So i thought to myself i'd share it because not alot of people seem to know. Also, when you use an invisibility potion mobs that are attacking you can still see you, if you use the skill they can't. But oh well, maybe not...

This doesn't work in a raid 90% of the time. You have to have NO aggro, which if you're a mage with no aggro, you're a noob. Even with an intentional wipe, you have to be left alone for 5 seconds, then the entire raid has to die within 20 seconds, which never happens because some dumbass is always trying to reset the mobs, which doesn't work.

Anyway, if you're a mage and don't know what an aggro dump is, roll a hunter.

Works fine with aggro for me. And being left alone for 5 sec is easy: use frost nova and blink. And if your party isn't dead after the 20 sec, then you will be out of combat, and if your party dies after that the mobs will leave you alone and reset. Unless you stand 10 feet away from them. And it's not about losing some aggro with invisibility, it's that it completely gets you out of combat.

In fact, your aggro reduce each seconds. If your raid is about to wipe, you don't really need to be low on aggro since it will go down quickly, making the mob less likely to go for you.

I've been using this since level 68 and it does work very well, even against raid boss.

Sorry to say but this seems like one of the loading screen tips that blizz comes out with. Like one of the previous things someone said "you can eat and drink at the same time"

Only how do you use frost nova and blink away from a boss and If the raid isn't dead you will more then likely be in combat or go back into combat.
