    Trap Amber Scalpel on Amber-Shaper as a hunter.

    Hi

    I have noticed and searched an odd behaviour on Amber-Shapers ability "Amber Scalpel" in conjunction with an SV-hunters ice-trap.

    If an ice-trap is placed on where the Amber Scalpel spawns (before it starts chasing the "fixated" player) it will become trapped together with the first Living Amber that spawns where the trap were placed and triggering the trap. This is due to the SV ability Entrapment affecting all npcs in the affected area, trapping/"rooting" them. Even stranger is when the effect ends the scalpel does not continue outside the ice-slick.

    This cannot be intentional as the scalpel clearly isn't a npc like the Living Amber. Nor does the scalpel trigger the trap but still are affected as a npc with it springs by the first add spawning.

    What probably happens behind the scenes is that the scalpel spawns a invisible "bunny" that is fixating on the player, the bunny is incorrectly coded to be trappable by proxy-entrapment.

    Its not a huge exploit but does negate the need to kite the scalpel by the fixated player for more the a few yards until the trap springs. Its not impossible that a mages ring of frost would work aswell.

    Does the raid continue to get damage from the add if it's trapped? If so, this would be useless, bit of a time waste if you could be dpsing them down rather than extending their lifetime & having a harder time later in the fight as there will be more adds than there should be.

    Ah no, perhaps I was unclear.

    You put a trap down on where the scalpel "spawns". This is at the feet of the one fixated on. Normally that person would kite the "laser" scalpel for its duration and you would kill the Living Amber adds that pops ut from its path.

    What happens is that the trap triggers from the first Living Amber add, it roots that add AND the scalpel thus making the time kiting of the scalpel only 10-15% of the duration it should be. Thus the healer or ranged dps has to run much shorter and can have higher dps uptime. The Living Ambers still must be killed as normal, potentially a bit easier as they will spawn in a very limited area due to the trapped scalpel.
