Hello,
I would like to share with you a way to start 5.2 with more than the valor cap. It may be common sense for those who know about these mechanics but I think it is still not intended by Blizzard to be able to do that.
Everybody knows that you get a 2 hours time to refund the gear you just bought with valor. This isn't counted when you are logged out. So here's the trick when you are valor capped :
1) Buy a valor item, preferably at a place which is very easy to reach, e.g. at the shrine (August celestial vendor). Keep it in your bags in a very visible place.
2) Now that you are not capped anymore, you can earn more valor points.
3) When your item is close to the 2 hours refund limit, buy another item. I recommend buying the same item as you can easily keep track of your "valor bank" items. Then sell the old one. You end up with the same item with its refund time refreshed and your total valor still higher than 3000.
4) When you are valor capped again, buy another item.
5) Repeat as much as you want. You can have 3000 valor with for example 4 rings of 1250 valor each in your bags, each expiring after 2 hours.
Of course for those who haven't started doing this yet, you may only have 2000 more valor in stock if you start now since the patch hits in 2 weeks. When 5.2 is live, you will be able to :
a) buy valor items you wanted from 5.1, as they will cost less
b) keep doing this until you get the necessary rep for new 5.2 valor gear, and get full geared in no time.
After the patch, simply buy items with your 3000 valor then sell one by one your items.
EDIT : DOES NOT WORK. Sorry I just picked wow this season and apparently Blizzard prevents doing that.
