    Avoid some Voodoo Dolls damage from Gara'jal the Spiritbinder

    As you know 3rd boss in Mogu'shan Vaults - Gara'jal the Spiritbinder - casts on his current tank and 3 persons (in 25 man) debuff Voodoo dolls Voodoo Dolls - Spell - World of Warcraft - and all damage which is done to current tank is done to each person with debuff. Boss has 2 types of abilities 1 instant cast and typical melee hits (~20% due to this thread can be fully avoided).


    What to do:


    Pull boss and wait until he casts voodoo dolls on main tank and 3 other persons

    Paladin's Hand of Protection - Spell - World of Warcraft casts on current boss tank and boss won't change his aim as he used to do - he will continue to hit tank with Voodoo doll debuff, but because of Hand of Protection - Spell - World of Warcraft tank won't recieve any damage from boss melee abilities for 10 seconds and this can be repeated practically every 60 seconds if you have a lot of pallys

    This is pretty useful when it is necessary to save persons with voodoo (for ex, when they have critical level of hp) and they won't take any damage from melee hits except boss's instant spell cast on tank (in heroic mode each melee strike ~90k and it is copied x4 times to persons with Voodoo Dolls)

    If it wasn't an exploit - boss simply will change his current target and put another voodoo debuff (as it was on beta or when one of tanks goes to dark stage of the fight) - but now he hit tank under hand of protection and causes no damage (in heroic mode 10 seconds of hop = ~5(6) meelee hits (90k damage each in 25 man) x4 players = healers save over 2 million healing each minute)

    its not exploit. its boss mechanics. we are using it with my guild always on this fight (two pallys in group). helps a lot.

    i wonder what will happen when:
    1. Boss banish mage, and then he instant iceblocks. (should stay on mage)
    2. Boss banish rogue, and he cast vanish. (should change target)
    3. Boss banish hunter, and he uses cheat death. (should change target)

    This IS considered an exploit because the Hand of protection SHOULD drop all aggro like a normal bubble for a pally does. Nice find, Thanks for sharing, +Rep when i can

    Not an exploit. Normally BoPing somebody will cause them to drop off the aggro table. That is happening in this case as well. The difference here is that Gara'jal fixates on his target, meaning it doesn't matter where the tank is on the aggro table. (I've accidentally pulled aggro on Gara'jal and got fixated, and even vanish wouldn't drop it).

    Quote from dungeon journal: "Gara'jal the Spiritbinder fixates on his current target, turning that player and 2 other players (10 man) into Voodoo Dolls... The Voodoo Doll effect persists until either the victim perishes or Gara'jal the Spiritbinder banishes his fixated target to the Spirit World."

    This should be in the guide section.
