Invite an account on the same battle.net to a cross realm group... (5.0)

Ok so as of 4.3 is has been possible to invite other bnet friends to a group and do certain cross realm things with them... but it has NOT been possible to invite another character that is on the same bnet account, when trying to add myself to my friendlist it says "you cant friend yourself"

This puts a damper on certain duel boxing activies that would take place if you have toons on 2-3 different servers.

I BRING YOU A SOLUTION

in 5.0.4 they have introduced cross-realm zones... zones where you can see other players from different realms and invite them to your group etc.. so here is what you do!

1- Log into both accounts (but on the same bnet)
2- Walk both characters to a cross-realm zone (I used the forest outside the main SW zone.. but there is many that work)
3- Get face to face with yourself.. right click and invite!

you are now in a group, that will allow you to do multiple cross-realm activites... but the group consists of 2 accounts linked to the same bnet

This really came in handy when I wanted to have my freind hop in FL and heal on my druid.. but my druid was on the same battle.net account (different realm)

I personally have not been on the PTR but don't you have to be in a group to see your cross realm partner?

if not zones are going to be flooded to hell with everyone from different servers.

No you dont have to be in a group to see other people.. that is the whole point of this feature. It is only enabled in zones that are super low pop old zones that nobody goes to accept for leveling... the purpose is to make them more crowded again.

So you can go to one of these zones and see a lot of other people from other servers. Now that being said the servers are grouped kind of like battlegroups.. so this may or may not work with the 2 servers you happen to play on. Chances are likely enough for this to be notable though.. particularly for oceanic realms which will likely all be together

you can acctually go to one of these zones and see cross realm players though.... and invite them to groups after you are there. Once you cross the border into a high pop zone you will seamlessly dissapear to other players

I have two licenses under one Bnet account and I got them in a party together through invite without a problem a few days ago while farming AQ20 on my paladin.

How? I have been trying to do it for months and this is the only way I can tell..... u were able to friendlist yourself?
you can get them in a group if they are in the same realm... but cross realm you cant

/invite [PLAYER]-[SERVER].
If we were to say that your name was XGamerX and was from the realm Blackrock the command would be: /invite XGamerX-Blackrock.

Ah yes both my characters are on Illidan and I was able to friends list. That may be why it worked.
