Split up lvl 80 boost and free char xfer from SoR

With SoR, you can boost up a char to lvl 80 and xfer him to another server. If you decide to xfer a lvl 85, you cant boost another char up to 80.
here is how to do it:
1. create the lvl 1 char or log on the char you want to boost to 80. make him transfer ready.
2. logout ingame, go into battlenet. choose realm transfer + lvl 80 boost to the char. click continue, but dont press the last button before transfer.
3. login, get 20k+ gold (or less, depends on lvl) on this char, so its over the transfer gold cap. logout.
4. press okay to the transfer. an error will appear: char has too much gold.
5. wait a short time. log on your char. he will pop up to 80.
6. now look at your SoR history. You split up lvl 80 boost and free xfer!

as you can see on the screen, i already got lvl 80 boost and can reclaim free xfer.

Yesterday, I transfered my level 85 character to the friend's realm.
Now, I created a level 1 character on that realm and I wanted to boost him to the level 80, but I found out I can't.
Stupid Blizzard ****s! They took my reward without me claiming it...

Would it work if you made the level 1 that youre gonna boost to a guildmaster? since you cant transfer if your guildmaster or in a guild i think

Can you transfer it to another account afterwords then? Or its just "splitting up" with no real benefits?

its just splitting up but it has benefits x.x you can boost a char to 80 and xfer/faction change another char for free

another way would be to send post instead of trading gold

Gold cap for lvl 10-20 is just 300g, you can see the cap per levels at character transfer FAQ

the SoR reward only offers a transfer to the realm of your friend but you can lvl a lvl 80 toon on any realm. OP might want to note that you will need to do this on a realm where the friend is not on because otherwise you wont be attempting to make a transfer. i guess that is obvious but who knows.

i didn't need to use this "exploit" to split the services up, you can choose if you want the free transfer + faction change OR claim level 80, it's 2 seperate services lol
