Using Deathwing's Fire to Grind

So I was flying around Uldum when the sky turned red and Deathwing filled the entire zone with fire. Now I was minding my business doing some quests to DE greens when I noticed that some adds were instantly spawning in his fire, taking a tick, and then dying a second or two later. I thought it would be fun to try and tag the mobs and sure enough, I was able to.

For as long as the fire existed I was tagging instantly spawning mobs that died right away from Deathwing's fire. Although it is situational and unpredictable where and when Deathwing shows up, it can be taken advantage of by low levels for grinding, as well as anyone looking for free loot. I got several greens to DE, BoE blues, and a few gold. Not something that's gamebreaking, but I felt it might be useful to post.

Now you see, this is an odd exploit. It has an enourmous use, but on a very limited, rare timeline. I also say it's not really going to get fixed, they use dozens of flame spells with different trigger effects just to make it work, messing with this just to stop a 5~ min advantage in leveling isn't really worth their time.

I would say that puts it into the normal exploit sections, but if it really has to be elite-ified, then that's a mods choice. I'll +rep as well, because this is clever - you saw something you thought would work outside the normal scope and you actually went through and tried it.

This has been around since release. I've had it happen to me multiple times. It only works in select spots in certain zones. I've done it in Uldum and in WPL.

Very interesting. im gonna say though that its not worthy of elite. its too situational and too short duration. its not something you can plan to do. it would be interesting though for sure.

As said above, the effect may seem minimal... but you never know how someone can take your exploit and tweak it a bit for much greater effect.

I wonder if you could tag a bunch of players (like lay an AoE on a group of players standing around Ramkahen) and get a handful of honor points using the same method?

How about kiting one of those world bosses (Julak'Doom/Akma'hat/Garr if it hits Hyjal I'm not sure) to the fires? Do those spawn near their spawn points?

I am going to +rep on this because I love odd exploits like this and this is extremely unlikely to ever be hotfixed considering how random it is to encounter this and unlikely to be game-changingly exploited. +5 rep for random exploit!!!

Although again, not very practical, I just witnessed Deathwing attack Uldum where everyone was questing for the Wind portion of the new Thrall quest line. If you find a sweet spot, you can use this method to easily save a few minutes of your life lol.
