While my teammate was changing specs and took a queue early without finishing his glyphs he realized that he was able to continue to re-glyph whilst in any bracket of Rated Arena.
This is potentially beneficial to classes that have situational glyphs that will help against certain comps. For example:
- A priest subbing out Mass Dispel glyph when playing against teams containing Paladin or Mage.
- A Hunter subbing in Raptor Strike glyph when playing against teams that will stick to him the entire game. Or subbing out the same glyph against teams that ignore him.
- A Priest subbing in Shackle glyph when playing against DKs.
Clearly this is increasingly beneficial if you know the team you're playing before the game begins. If you PvP on a server with a high same-faction PvP population the old trick of trying to whisper people in the same arena as you and getting an error message in return (signifying you are playing against them) still works. However, it is possible to change glyphs mid game, outside of the starting area.
I feel like this is an exploit because you really can't use much in Rated Arenas and you aren't even allowed to change from Primary to Secondary specs.
