Making more money with engineering....(create both new pets while beeing specialised)

Did a search and only find a guide where it is explained how to make the pets und that you should skill up your profession with them....

So yesterday i made some De-Weaponized Mechanical Companion - Item - World of Warcraft to make a little money (they sell for ~1000g at my Server). Then i switched my specialisation from Gnome to Goblin with the book in tanaris and learned Personal World Destroyer - Item - World of Warcraft to make a little more money....

Today i realised that i can make both cataclysm-pets while beeing a Goblin-Engineer.

You may ask: Where is the exploit, it is working as intended....
Answer: No it´s not! You can learn the De-Weaponized Mechanical Companion only as Gnome-Engineer and you can learn the Personal World Destroyer only as Goblin-Engineer. No ther Gnome-feature is left in my profession-book, i´ve unlearned all of them but not the companion.

So, switch specialisation, learn the other pet and profit...i can make 500g profit with each sold pet.

I really hope it´s not a repost, but didn´t find anything similar.

about to lvl engineerin..thx for the heads up. That way I won't go lookin for recipes till i change specialization

It's a unique one. Any other Goblin/Gnomish recipe becomes inaccessible (not lost because they come back when you retrain back) when you switch to the other except these. You learn them from the Dalaran engineer trainers of goblin and gnomish where the other faction specific recipes are old world trained may have something to do with it.

Exploit ... tough one to call but good advise to let others aware.

With them and the toad, they are the best Engineer money maker even if they can be a slow sale compared to what other professions provide. It is a cycle, the best sales for the pets are the weeks leading to a new content/tier patch. people don't want to waste gold on items/enhancements that will be obsolete and will prefer to buy pets. The market is in higher demand than early in the content release phase liek we are moving out of now from people rather spending gold on the best gear and enchants etc for raids. Hope it helps.
