While doing the Lost City of Tol'Vir (Regular Difficulty), I noticed that there were packs of tigers on each side of the doorway. With my rogue buddy still in the instance after having defeated the boss, we CC'd the Handler and promptly killed the tigers, that's where it got interesting.
The drop rate of leather on these tigers was equivalent of elite mobs, but they are not elites and don't have an elite tag. A lvl 85 rogue with an average iLvL of 325 can solo the handlers and tigers without a problem and get the leather himself.
The advantage? 16 SAVAGE leather per 5 minute run through of killing these first two packs is a bare minimum. We usually walked out with around 20 leathers from 5 mins of work, 5 times an hour.
TL;DR:
1. Enter Lost City of Tol'Vir
2. CC the Handler mob near the tigers to the left and right sides of the entrance.
3. Kill the tigers and skin them for much more savage leather than standard mobs.
4. Run out, reset, continue.
I am not sure if it lets you do this while in the queue for a random dungeon, but if someone can confirm this, that would be excellent.
