    Free Arena Rating

Not sure if this is working as intended, but if nothing else a nice little trick to boost your initial rating.

All that is required is that you get invited to a team with a rating of 1000 or higher, and you will be given 1000 rating automatically. Now this doesn't work past 1000, and only guaranteed 1000 if the team is at least that rating. For example if the team is a 800 rating, and your PR is lower than 800, when you are invited to that team, you will be given 800 rating.

No it hasn't, if anything they just implemented it, in TBC you started with 1500 rating, regardless of team, in WotLK, they changed that to 0, in now as bjorno is saying changed it to a maximum rating of 1000.

It's been like this for a very long time, I can't remember when but at the earliest it was Season 5.

Been like this most of Wrath until now. Working as intended. One tip, in Wrath, instead of grinding new teams up to 1000, some PvPers just bought 1000 rated teams to start on. If you have a team and stop doing arena, might as well not delete the team in case an opportunity like that arises.
