I mentioned this in another thread, and a couple of people wanted to know how its done, so I figured I'd post it.
These basilisks can be skinned, drop meat for a high-level food buff, and have a chance to drop greens. However, you will probably spend most of your time here waiting on respawns making it not as ideal as the location in the thread moved to the elite forum. Nevertheless, if you don't know that location, or find it too tricky to get to, this is the "poor-man's" version.
First, go to Winterspring near the Dark Whisper gorge. If you're facing the entrance to Hyjal, then on the far left you should see some old ruins (looking vaguely like a greek temple). Behind those ruins, you'll see a couple of hills that look like this:
If you look at that image, the right half, roughly, is classed as Dark Whisper Gorge as a Subzone of Hyjal, while the left half is Dark Whisper Gorge as a subzone of Winterspring. You want to get over the tall hill on the left side. The right hill is not so steep that you can't just walk right up it, but for a brief moment you'll step into Hyjal and, unless you're a bit lagged, likely be ported.
There are various easy ways to get over that hill. I use the Area 52 Rocket Helm (as a mage, you blink at the highest point then run forward to give your fall some forward momentum). Levitate would also work. You can theoretically run up over it without levitate, but as I said you'll step into Hyjal for a brief moment so you'll likely be ported a few times trying to get the timing right. You could also have someone with a Mind Control helm move you up there with the "goto" command. Pick whichever method is less frustrating for you.
After that, you can drop down all the way to this ledge:
Be careful, test with your Crashin' Thrashin' Racer, as *part* of this ledge is not safe to stand on, but most of it is.
Now you can pull up to 3 basilisks. The first is close, and can be pulled with the racer if you're a melee class, or easily with a pet. The other two require a Spyglass pull, which might not be possible if you aren't a mage/warlock. If there's a long-range attack that some hunter pet has, then they can probably pull it off as well.
First you send your pet to max range with the "goto command". Then you zoom in with the spy glass and tell your pet to attack. If you do not use the goto command to move your pet away from you first, your pet will balk at your command to attack something that far away. But with the spyglass, and the long-range pet (again this might be mage-only), you can pull an additional 2 Baslisks.
Also, if you're alliance, you can use the Eonar's Arrow trick. It should probably work, and might even be able to pull a 4th Basilisk only visible with the Spyglass. I have no way to test this, however.
