Ethereal Portal - TCG /HS cooldown exploit

I tried searching for the words ethereal portal and couldnt see anything so i apologise if this is a repost.

If you have the Etereal Portal item from the trading card game... Ethereal Portal WoW Loot | Portal Stone WoW TCG Loot Card | WoWTCGLootCards.com

and when you use it, it will use up your cooldown on Portal as well as your Hearthstone.

However if you know you need to make a few journeys back and fourth, you use your hearthstone the first time so it uses its cooldown, but it doesnt use the portals, meaning you have another HS ready to go should you need it.

and that basically is a quick time saving exploit

I understand not many people will have it but i feel it is unintended mechanic so was worthwhile posting here.
