Honor Loot Hax

Through this post i have no interest in rep or any other forms of flaming or w/e this is PURELY informing people who wish to try and possibly succeed in doing.

I had 40k honor used 20 wintergrasp tokens, it put me over the honor cap.
That is exploit #1

#2, at the honor gear vendor, i had honor cap and i bought a piece and started buying every piece there was, and 6 pieces of gear were bought, and honor was not taken, i bought a 7th piece where the honor was taken.

I resold pieces i didnt need and ended up with full wrathful main set with a couple offsets

This only works if your server is one such as blackrock which is VERY laggy at the moment.

Dont flame as im not asking for rep, rep if you want, rep if it works, w/e u want

just giving you guys the opportunity to save urself farming 200k honor like i just did

sounds like the server is laggy enough, trick is trying to buy like 50 items, itll give item but wait a few to take your honor

then you can sell back first and repeat

also thinkin of ideas to mabye speed it up, try torrenting at same time might help


also, this was IMMENSE amounts of lag, like verge of crashing, so, like im reproducing right now and im not having any luck, so wait for a server lag spike before attempting

What people don't seem to understand is that this is due to server lag, and the server desynching. Not because you're lagging.


Scenario 1: Server lag
If the tokens were to give 10k each.


Player a turns in a token to get honor and already has 64k honor.
Server checks how much honor players has to make sure it doesn't go over the cap and sees that it can give the full 10k.
Server queues the giving honor to that player in the list of things it has to do as it's lagging like hell.
Player a turns in another token.
Server still sees the 64k honor and queues another 10k.
Server unlags and gives a total of 20k ( Putting player a at 84k honor )
From now on player a can keep on gaining honor as the total amount of honor that the server will give will never go through the 75k check again ( Since player a already passed it. )


Scenario B: Client lag ( Torrents, etc )


Player a turns in a token to get honor and already has 64k honor.
Server checks how much honor players has to make sure it doesn't go over the cap and sees that it can give the full 10k.
Server gives the 10k and puts player a at 74k.
Player a is lagging. Player a already got 10k and it already was registered on the server, but he will not see it yet as his connection is too saturated to handle the bandwidth.
Player a turns in another token.
Server looks into the character info stored on the server and notices he already has 74k.
Server gives 1k, putting the player at 75k, the cap.
Player a unlags himself and goes " WHAT THE **** WHY ISN'T THIS SHIT WORKING!!! MMOWNED EXPLOITS NEVER WORK BECAUSE I DON'T EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND WHAT'S HAPPENING BEHIND IT! /wrists"
Parog looks at player a and bursts out laughing.



Hope this makes some of you understand why this happens and why so many of you have / are going to rage because you'll waste a lot of tokens trying to do this the wrong way.
