[How To: Video+Pics] Alternative Fishing Spot in Old Ironforge for Horde

This thread uses a similar trick as the [How to: Pics and Video]Get into Old Ironforge using The Chopper. and [Exploit] Hack through Walls with Motorcycle Mount threads. Also I checked for similar threads and found nothing.


I figured after years of lurking I'd actually try and post something. This is a useful way for hordes to fish in Ironforge without worrying about being ganked non stop. I did this as an Alliance since I'm way too poor to be able to afford a chopper on both my chars.

You're gonna need a chopper or a horde friend who doesn't mind sacrificing himself so you can get into old IF.


Assuming you're horde, you're going to want to just ride into Magni's room and get as close as you can to the left door. You should get auto dismounted and thrown behind the door. I would also suggest you keep your armor on in case you get any chasers.





Then just keep running down until you get to the entrance to Old IF:



This is the ledge we will be landing on to fish:



And take the path all the way down to the bottom and run to the left door:



Once you drop down you can fish without any hassle

Nice, but it's probably easier to just get a fishbot and go to regular fishing spot at night. Unless you get some serious bad luck and get ganked right after you leave the computer, you should get the rare fish the first night.

You should tell the people they have to use NoBOPWarning addon for example. Otherwise they won't have anything but crap in their inventory :P

And fishing at night in IF only works for low pop servers or with really BIG luck. On my server even at 2 am you have about 20-40 people in IF. The safe spots are much safer. I think this could be why they are called "safe" spots :P

And I think this place is the most secure as they can't see you except they are down there, too. No Repost for me. Easiest to reach and most secure and none of the three linked topics lead to this position.

Never used any addons, and I still had the achievement in the morning. But the fishbot probably had some kind of functionnality to loot BoP fish (can't check, never used it again since)

I'm playing on some high-pop server. We have waiting lists almost every evening and free transfers are open very often. But it was already 2-3 month ago when "everybody" wanted the achievements and would camp IF at night, so most alliance players wouldn't bother to try to gank 5-6 level 80, even if they had fishing gear equipped and half of them were probably bots.
And it probably wasn't luck for me, I had to spend several nights there, PC ****ed up on the 1st & 2nd try and bot went off shortly after going afk.

P.S : and I'm pretty sure recent fishbots have some option to run from GY to corpse and continue fishing

I used GlynFisher when catching Old Crafty before the Fishing Quest Trick came up. I just hung around on my bed watching TV when the BoP Window came up. Had to jump to my mouse and hit the OK just in the moment when the bot recasted. Got the Achievement but was somewhat angry about the loot stuff so I used the NoBOPWarning addon.

And on my server, when we got into IF a few days ago at night with 5 guys we were downed And they tried to camp :P Maybe just frustrated alliance players but for me this location is somewhat epic
