[DK] NEW Permanent Death Rune (Including zoning, log off)

I know there are other threads, but this is another method.

So, i was Blood specced until recently, when i respecced to a tri specc and got a permanent death rune.
Here's how i did it.

First thing i did was use an obliterate to get two death runes, one ice and one unholy. I then used the unholy Death rune and left the ice one. (Death Rune Mastery from the blood tree does that).

Secondly, i respecced 17/33/21.
Voila, perma death rune.

Ps. Make sure you use the unholy death rune, so you just have the icy one left. Else, it wont worked. Tested on an additional DK aswell.

Does this work for using obliterate twice and getting 4 death runes (Two unholy two ice) If so this would be EPIC.

Will look like that when i get to 80.
It sucks for PvE, and it sucks for PvP. But it's awesome for AoE grinding.
But you don't need to do that exact specc.
Just make sure you keep 1 Death Rune on the first Ice Rune spot.

Hope Blizzard doesn't fix this any time soon.

respec out of DRM, using the death rune via any means turns it back into a frost rune

Do you have to consume the extra unholy rune by only using obliterate again? Did you also test to see if this effect persists after dieing?

What spec would benefit from this? Frost 2H has 2 Unholys and 1 Frost always a Death Rune.

Soulzek, yes it's still there after dying.
I STILL have the Death rune, zoning, logging, dying, using it does not remove it.

Just noticed. Doesn't matter what skill i use, it uses the Death rune first. So if i do a plaguestrike, it consumes the Ice Death rune instead of a regular unholy rune.
Still, a Death rune though. Quite nice when you're spamming blood boil.

I used plaguestrike to get rid of the DR after the obliterate.
