Decent Rep farm in CoT Stratholme

So I was running with a group in CoT:Stratholme today. It is a level 80 instance. We know that if you wear a tabard such as the Kirin Tor, you will gain a little rep from killing the elites.

Well today we died a lot on heroic trying to get to the second part of escorting Arthas. ( The part right after the 3rd boss chrono lord Epoch and before Mal Ganis).

We knew that you dont have to talk to Arthas to kill the mobs. So we went ahead and cleared some of the elite trash and gained rep. After you talk to arthas, the elites spawn again. So you can let arthas die and reset the escort thus having the elites up again.

Although it is a slow method and not the best, you can still gain some decent rep if you have a good group and just plow through it over and over again.

Just wanted to let everyone know =)

It's a method but it is much easier to just rerun the instance especially with bosses giving a good lump of rep and gear.

That is true but especially on heroic the trash mobs give more rep than regular instance. Also, you can only run the heroic once a day whereas you can farm the rep in heroic for as long as you want.

your method make work better on regular but guess that depends on who ever is running the instance to decide. =)

I actually haven't run a regular instance at 80 and have only run heroic CoT:S and just moving on to another heroic just seems like more efficient way at least with a very speedy group.

well that may be true but some instances are harder than another and the time to get there.

i don't doubt you may be right. im just tossing an option out there for people who happen to be there and maybe want a couple of extra rep. =)
