[USELESS;IDEA;Suggestion?!?] Logging out in nax pre-tbc before wotlk comes.

    Hi there,

After the new Expansion comes the Nax 40 man will dissapear and go to the outlands. So what happens if you log-out in the instance a few days before WOTLK comes out?

    Possibilities:

    1. After you logged back in at the expansion, you will be in the new nax, or right outside it. Instant Northrend/dalaran anyone?

    2. You fall endlessly and have to relog or get a GM to help you.

    3. You're hearthed back home

    4. You're still in the old nax

    ----------------------------

I'm testing this out with my alt hunter, will post pics when the time comes.

However, I'm posting this so not only I can test this, but like a recruitement for other mmowned peeps to test it out with me.

Don't you get removed from the instance when you log out for longer than 5 minutes, or something to that effect?

    I'm definitely testing this.

And netters, I think you get ported to the entrance on the inside.

    @ netters

If you log out in an instance, you will be at the beginning of the instance. Tested this out a few days ago for 1 day.

@ the two above me: It'll port you to the front of the instance, not to your hearth.

Dalaran =/= Naxx? Why would this take you to Dalaran?

    Thanks for trying I suppose.

The instance Naxx is in zone Dragonblight, this will give you a chance to already get the FP there, and go to Dalaran wich is just 10-20 min away to also get that fp.
If you're in Naxx, you will get the chance to see the instance before you're 80.
You'll get to be the first one to see the instance on your server, Achievements any1?
Or this might unlock any other exploit.

And I'm basicly not trying, don't need any reputation. Just wanted to share a bit of info i came up with.

EDIT: Thanks Ighox, its indeed in Dragonblight.

Dalaran is only accessible two ways:

    A mage portal/lock summon.

Doing an attunement quest to get in (in addition to the attunement quest required to use a flying mount.)

Getting to Dragonblight won't get you into Naxx any faster.

You need a level 74 friend already attuned to port you there or you need to be 74.

Since the instance will no longer exist, when you login you will probably get the message "Instance cannot be found" and be ported to your hearth or something to that extent.

Well more than likely Naxx will be removed in the content bridge patch before WotLK is released, so if you log out in Naxx then you'll just be ported back to your home since the instance can't be found. And since you need to actually update to WotLK to enable Northrend access, even if you somehow did get moved with the instance to Northrend, you'd just get kicked out.
If you're not going to bother to click the +Rep button, don't say you will.

I believe, if Blizzard is as lazy as I know they are, Naxx will retain it's individual zone ID, and thus as long as you wait until you have installed WotLK and upgraded your account, and don't log on the character in this experiment until everything is fairly stable, you should appear at the inside entrance on your character.

One slight problem though, and I've only seen this once long ago, with no screen shot to offer (sorry). I ended up inside an instance I wasn't the appropriate level to enter (after some patch, too long ago to recall) and so when I tried to leave, it said I wasn't the appropriate level. This error may or may not have been fixed since then, but if it isn't...

The other problem is that since Blizz is making 10 and 25 man versions of raids, they may actually change the instance IDs. Either way, good idea, and I wish you luck.

I've had the same bug as Muramasa, except it was almost three years ago now. Went to zone into Deadmines, ended up inside Ulda. Except I could exit it. Couldn't go back in afterwards though.

Assuming they keep the same ID, I doubt they'll even change anything inside. In which case you'll log on in the same instance. Nothing new.

If they change the ID, you'll get booted for going somewhere that doesn't exist.
If they keep it the same BUT change it to the level 80 one, several things can happen.
If they fixed the bug, you'll be spit out for being under level 75-80 and hearthed.
If they didn't, nothing special. YOu're inside, you can leave, you can do whatever. You'll also be aggroing everything like a beast.
Ooor. You might get stuck until a GM gets to you.
Worst case scenario, which shouldn't be possible, is that you can't log on period. They have systems in place for instances that aren't running to just hearth you.

Still worth trying though. Might stick some worthless char in there.
