Awesome _guide_.
Awesome _guide_.
Does not work for me, when I apply it to my background its just an X in the upper left hand corner meaning an error.
Tried it before this post but it's looks weird on a 1280x1024 display, too much stretching. Should be in General Programs but nice find for those who didn't know about it
It's cool as shit x].
+ 2 rep for you.
I have the swine flu!

Oh noess..
Got the same problem as Tatertots.
Did everything following the guid, although I get a black screen on my wallpaper
with a red "X" sign in the upper left corner.
Like it's unable to load the file.
Hope someone knows how to fix it.
It rly looks imba ^ ^ Very nice guide btw +rep
Great.. tried it. Same wallpaper as last time.. with no folders and control panel wont open.
Got it to work
If you get a black screen with a red "X" sign in the left corner, then
just manually open the HTML file you created (converted video map) by right-mouse
clicking on it > open with Internet Explorer (Not Firefox/Opera or any other browser).
Now you should get the same black screen, with the red "X" mark as you got on
your desktop. Now there should be a bar under your address bar (in IE) with wich
you can enable popups/directx or something (dunno what it says, clicked on it right
away ^ ^). After that enable, you should see the vid working in IE, thus
makes it work on your desktop...
Hope you guys understand my bad English :P
GL, and thx again for the great guide
Great tool! Ways better than any other animated desktop tools I had before because it doesn't run in the background, you don't need to isntall it, it just uses the WMP plugin and can be used with every video
Thanks for posting +Rep
Edit: How to disable the background of icon names? Would be good to know ^^
nice dude this is sweet
A couple things to note here. This was tested and working on windows xp machines. I have not tried for other o/s's besides xp home. For vista there is supposed to be another program on the website to mimic the same results.
Problems
1.) I installed and converted and all my folders on my desktop disappeared
Solved** double click the desktop on a blank area and the icons should reappear. you can see this happen in one of the video.
2.) I get a red x and i'm unable to control my converted background.
**this could be a difference in multiple issues. More than likely it's your firewall or security settings. You see the way this works is it fools windows xp into thinking it's just watching a streaming website. When really the file is streaming from your computer. Sometimes security softwares will block this action as they may not understand what you are trying to do. Remember results will vary depending on different machines. If you can't get it to work i'm sorry. In most cases this works for the general user. Try disabling your secuirty software. Then reinstalling.
3.) My desktop icons look funny they have blueish trim..
** solved by opening control panel selecting the "desktop tab" and on the bottom right side there is a color option. Select for black and this should take care of it.
4.) The thing gets all screwy whenever i want watch a video or play a game.
**solved before you get into any serious gaming be sure to right click the desktop and select "stop" or "Pause" then load your game/video should be fine now.
5.) This thing bogs down my system.
**note this is meant for mid-range to upper-range computers. It was originally designed for high end machines running windows vista ultimate. If it bogs down it may be too much of a load for your system.
6.) The picture looks strecthed/distorted when playing.
**solved if you refer to step 11 of the guide there is an option in xpscene that allows your to stretch the video file to fit the screen. Try it without stretching this should take care of your problem.
please list any further issues... For the rest you who got it working grats!
