Paladin, Holy Shock.

Hi, This is my first exploit, and I've searched the forums and couldn't find anything about it. So here it goes:

If you're a Paladin with the Illumination and Holy Shock talents, You'll get mana back when you crit heal with Holy shock, If you heal with Holy Light before you crit heal with Holy Shock, You'll get back the mana cost of the Holy Light instead of the Holy Shock.

- Heal with Holy Light (840 mana)
- Critheal with Holy Shock (435 mana)
Get back 840 mana.

Same goes for Flash of Light, But then you'll loose mana instead of gaining a few hundred mana :P

No use really, why wouldn't you just use divine favor for the Holy Light in the first place?

So basically what you're saying is before using Holy Shock use Holy Light, however if it doesn't crit you may have just lost almost 1k mana.

I agree with Liania... it'd just be easier to use Divine Favor then Holy light. Then instead of losing 405 mana (Due to holy shock, net loss) you woll get the full 840. And if it doesn't crit.. well bye bye mana

You're missing the point.

There is honestly no reason to post this, because what the OP is suggesting is that you use Holy Shock after Holy Light. Depending on your healing crit, which is less then 30% of a chance, you lose all of that mana. If you're a good Paladin healer you'll know (mostly in raids) that your primary healing source is Flash of Light and that Holy Light is only used when needed because of the high mana cost.

So basically you're offering a high heal - one that, in a raid, easily wont be needed as much and will be overheal - for less then a 30% chance that your mana will not get restored and you will have lost all of that. Not worth it, imo.

Now assuming that some background work wasn't done on this, you could find out a few more facts that could make it useful. For example, is there a time limit on this? Could you use Holy Light then, 5 minutes later, use Divine Favor and Holy Shock and still get back the Holy Light's mana? If so, then this may be vaguely usefull.
