I need some directions

Hello there, I think you guys have heard this quite a few times but I need some directions
I want to start up a server (Well... Not have it online for quite awhile) as a hobby because I get bored very easily and I always wanted to learn how to program

I don't really know how to program although I can understand a syntax but I do have a lot of spare time so I can learn

I would like to open it up on the Legion expansion and yes I do know that servers are more and more unstable the closer they are to the live patch, I am also aware that it can get taken down very easily but that would be the least of my problems since it might take years to put it up online

Are sandbox servers empty? Without NPCs spawned? Would I have to program each and every one of them to do certain stuff?

I will try and set up a Legion sandbox right now to see things for myself but any help you guys could give to me would be appreciated

Hello, you can start by using Single Project Player V2 (SPP).
Basically what you need to do is download that and use a client. do not use repacks just follow the instructions and there you have : Single Player Project Real v2 (3.3.5a)
