Hi,
I'm no heavy emulator, but I do like to mess around. Last time I had things up and running as well as working was back in the middle of WotLK (or was it early Cata?) if I remember right. I'm now curious about which way to go. I did read through the other post about another outdated lad, but not all my answers were answered there, so therefore I now seek out the Old Gods of MMOwned through here.
I currently started playing retail again (after being away for the whole of MoP), but would love to get something set up next to it. Doesn't have to be WoD, MoP or Cata. WotLK or BC is fine. Vanilla too.
If I recon right, I used ArcEmu and a slightly sniffed on MaNGOS. Never TOUCHED Trinity, since I really enjoyed being able to script whatever the heck I wanted through LUA since I understood it more or less.
I now see that Trinity has support for LUA, and was wondering if I should set up a Trinity server with LUA support, or if I should just go for a stable version of ArcEmu.
So in short, I wonder if I should go for Trinity with LUA support (if the engine supports it for WotLK and/or older) or good and stable version of ArcEmu.
Where do I begin? The easier the better, but LUA support is a must.
My dream is to get 2 servers up and running. One custom and one clean. And in the end maybe even have them public for the heck of it, altough that's currently out of the question.
Thanks in advance!
