    Question

    Well actually, 3 questions

    1. I've been using WoW-V to make enemies recently and don't have knowledge of scripting but. In the NPC/Advanced section when making an NPC, what does SpellDataID specifically do? Is it a field where you individually pase in spells the NPC has access to use or to insert an ID of an already existing list of spells the NPC can use?

    2. What is considered a successful Private Server/what are the average number of players? Are we talking hundreds or thousands?

    3. When it comes to running a server, how power-consuming is it? I realise you would require a lot of RAM and a strong CPU but what sort of specs are needed to run a server of maybe 30-180 online at once? Would placing the server and all the files on an SSD speed up the server in any way?

Yes, the access times of an SSD drive are much less than the access times of any other drive except a RAM disk (which is impractical for most applications)
There are videos out there which compare these factors.

But not really relevant for private servers until you start hitting hundreds of players then only the database would have an advantage really.

    1) read the trinitycore documentation on their wiki.

    2) a server is successful if you deem it so. Private servers are a lot smaller these days than they used to be, a few thousand online on the top couple of servers.

    3) you really do not need powerful hardware to run a wow server until you start hitting hundreds and hundreds of players. The database (mysql server) will probably always be the most resource intensive part.
