Is it good for a TBC server ?

    Hello,

I'm a beginner in WOW emulation and I'm trying to understand everything before going into the details,
so here are my questions :

I'd like to build a Vanilla server with the TBC engine. I want to get the talent and spells from TBC because it adds much more fun to the gameplay (and balance imo) but keep the players on Azeroth (no Outland) only enjoying level 60 content (max lvl 60).

So i think using a TBC core is the way to go and remove the unwanted stuff in the database like removing the access to outland.

1- Which Core should I use for this purpose ?

2 - Since i'm a noob, I have found someone to help me with C++, but he only wants to work on MANGOS, so it would be MANGOS One, but I read it's not the best version of Mangos nor the best version for TBC...
It will be a PVP server, I don't think most of the PVE content will be necessary so maybe Mangos One will be enough.
What do you think of this ? Will it be okay using it ?

3 - Is Mangos One still updated and bugfixed regularly ?

4- Is cMangos very different from Mangos (about C++ ofc) ?

Is it good for a TBC server ?

From what I've heard, Mangos One is the best for TBC. Oregon is not developed any longer and ArcEmu is just a piece of rubbish really and always has been since Ascent started their way of developing (there was nothing better at the time).

All the Mangos emulators (and Oregon which was based on TrinityCore I believe) have very, very similar code and API's.

You can remove access to Outlands, sure. But you can't change talents without client side edits which you would need to distribute. If you are taking this method, I don't see why you don't just use 3.3.5a and modify that (as TrinityCore 2 is the best emulator by a long way).

First of all, thank you for your answer.

    Secondly,
I'm not sure I understood exactly what you meant, but if you mean "removing access to outlands" can be done with 3.3.5a and TrinityCore is the best emulator nowadays (while I've read on cMangos forum it crashes more than cMangos) so you should use this Core. I didn't play Wotlk at all, and I know there were some removals from Vanilla after TBC (maybe after Wotlk i don't know) so it might be wiser for me to use TBC. I don't know about the new spells in WOTLK nor talents either.
And i don't want to change talents, I want players to be able to use the TBC talents and spells in a Vanilla world, so using a TBC patch would allow this without changing anything, I guess, and then I just have to remove the unwanted content from this expansion.

Well now i don't know if i should use a WOTLK core lol

EDIT : hmm i just remember why not using a Trinity core, it's because a C++ dev can help me with Mangos but he doesnt want trinity
