creating a totally new spell

hey guys,

i've spent the last 40 hours looking everywhere for how to create a brand new spell on both client and server, how to set what it does, and finally how to make it load into the wow client as a kind of patch, so people wouldn't have to download the full data folder just for a few minor tweaks. i've found countless posts on modifying an existing spell, but nothing on making a new one from scratch.

I know several websites have a policy about not talking about client modification, but i'm pretty sure some of the other stuff here is way worse then dinking with the client .

I'd appreciate if someone could point me in the proper direction of where to find the proper information as i haven't found anything remotely close to what i'm trying to do.

While it is very much possible to create your own spell, it's easier to best your new spell on existing things.

Once you have inserted the necessaries records you must distribute your DBC to both the clients and the server.

DBFilesClient in the client structure.
