    Back up my entire database?

    Hey,

    I'm looking to back up my entire database hopefully into an .SQL file or something so I can easily just import it back in when I get everything set up after the fresh install of windows 7.

    Here is what I'm using:
    -Arcemu (latest rev as of march 5th)
    -WhyDB rev.152 changeset.103
    -SQLyog
    -Windows 7

    I attempted to look up a tutorial on this but the best I found was a vague thread with 3 posts where the OP said to rightclick arcemu and then back up the DB.

    I don't know how Arcemu works but can't you just use phpmyadmin and download the .sql file with that?

    My first suggestion would be to right click on each database (logon, world, character) and click on the 'dump sql file' option. I'm using navicat, but surely you will find a dump function in yours too. This will make you 3 sql files that can be executed anytime again. Hope it helped.

    I managed to find the dump feature, I dumped all 3 parts of the DB. Just so I'm certain do these numbers sound about right:

    arc_character = 126kb (only a few characters)
    arc_logon = 3-4kb (3 accounts)
    arc_world = 147mb (Around 30 imported items, 30 imported NPCs, and all of the gameobjects you can get)

    Just dump the queries using any MySQL interface really. It's really easy, and you've now got the .SQL files.

    In your new MySQL server, you just import MySQL file (or import from batch file) and watch as your databases return.

    You can compress your world database to around 6MB using a ZIP archive when transferring. Also note, if you get a error importing it's likely because the queries are too "big" to fully execute. Dump the SQL file as single line queries and then import it, it will take longer but will not generate any errors.
