[Lua Script] Script Tester Without WoW Client?

    Hello MMOwned

I was sitting here, troubling with some lua, since I want to learn more about it.
And I was wondering if there is any way of testing it completely, without logging in a wow server. As i'm working quite a lot without having wow installed on this lappy, then it's kinda hard for me to be sure if it really works, since the LuaEngine is still reading it while it might have some practical errors, such as 2 different people using the same script, might only trigger for one of them.

Thanks in advance if you know anything useful or constructive.
And replies that are NOT answering my question.. Well it would be helpful if those comments wern't there. Ciao

PS: I will give a +Rep Cookie for a reply that answers my Question.

No. Then I could just have sent it to my bf or something, my point is that I want to test them FULLY with ONLY the database and lua engine.. And not having to log on WoW, or having someone else doing it.

Unfortunatly, no. Well... There IS a way xP If your sure about what your doing, Register each event to happen every (for instance) 10th second, and see if it reports an error when going through it. Ofcourse, this is only to see if it works in theory. But well... Practically, your gonna have to do it ingame, since it WILL require a brain to use it.

    Thanks

You can't actually debug Lua line by line using breakpoints, you could if you did it in C++.

But due to the nature of the script, you would only be testing whether it worked logically and syntax wise. The spells/visuals/moving etc, would have to be tested in game to see whether or not it actually displays how you want it to.
