Help on a script. Donation/Vote Script

Hello MMOwned, I have a very quick question for anyone who might know the answer, or can point me in the direction of the answer.

I am looking to make a script where the player can open an item they have (gossip item) and click the button to receive donation, or vote points they voted/donated for on the website we have, Is this possible in Lua.. I've seen it on many servers so I am just curious.

Use the database is the interaction point.

Website:
Enter account name -> vote -> Insert account name, ID and count into DB (add to count if entry already exists).

In Game:
On Item Click -> Open gossip -> On gossip select -> Query database to return vote points -> If null / 0 do not let, if other value update count = count - 1, then add vote item.

It's fairly simple when you think about it. Just need one custom table within one of the databases. Can be done in Lua or C++ for in game.
