    ItemExtendedCost not working.

Okay... i've had enough of spending 2 + hours trying to sort it out, done everything as it should be....

Added the extra ID Cost into DBC and saved it
Added the extra ID cost to the item on the vendor in vendors table.

Created an item to use as the Cost... but...
    - People can STILL get the item for free?

When i try to add it via the ingame [itemid] [ammount] [extcost] i get

    'Invalid Extended cost ID'

Dont understand what is up, and its really starting to anoy me.

    +REP for anyone who helps

Using custom currency in dbc files requires that the dbc be converted into a MPQ patch file and installed in the clients data folder, if i'm not mistaken.

is this Arcemu? or Trinity or Mang?

If its Arcemu OR trinity, here is a list of ITEM EXTENDED COSTS of what you can use.
Extended Costs link for ARCEMU / These Also work for trinity too
    - Credits go for the item extended costs go to the person who made this topic.

Once you see what ever item extend cost you want, go into ur DB files, Weather it be Arcemu then you need to look for the table callled "Vendors"

First Step if your wanting to-do it with Arcemu is.
add your item to the Selected Vendor that your wanting to add the extended cost too.

    Step Two
Look into the vendors Table then use the FIND tool to find the ITEM ID NUMBER and it will come up with the Vendor you have added it too

you should now see our item and the list of the table function it should look some thing like ID Name or w/e and the extended cost of the item

in the list above you will find the IDs for what ever you want to put it as, it may be limited but there is some good stuff there you can use.

once you have done this, just do a restart i think and it should work.
It always has worked for me for ARCEMU.

    Trinity

With trinity all you need to-do is look in your WORLD table or what ever you have called it, for your ingame world
and look for the table called NPC_vendor show all the items in all the vendors with there extended Costs and such

    All you have todo is

add the item to the selected vendor in-game refresh the table then look in your Database,

Use the find tool for the item ID you have added or the vendor ID - but id use the Item ID to narrow it down in case you have a lot of stuff in that vendor

Get the item extended Costs list back up that i have supplied you with get the ID from there and put it in the Items_ExtendedCost and your good togo

Just do a restart and this should take effect, also i'd recommend you deleting your cache also

Hope this has helped you in some sort of way and solved your problem your having
if you need anymore help please contact me via Pm and ill try to help you the best i can

I'm having the same problem as Cotash. I'm on the latest Arcemu revision and everything. I tried the guide he references which edits the DBC files (guide says nothing about requiring a patch) as well as your advice Numb and I'm still getting the same problems as Cotash. Guess Arcemu's just not working in that department..

    EDIT:
I figured out our problem Cotash. That guide screwed up the items_extendedcost.dbc file for us.
To get it back to normal where all of Blizzard's extended costs are working:
Re-extract from enUS/enGB in your WoW client as you did when you compiled (reference a compiling guide for details) to get your DBC files. Copy and paste the items_extendedcost.dbc from the new DBC folder into the server's DBC folder and you should be good be back to square 1 with a fresh DBC file.
Or if you still have it laying around, just copy and paste and then follow Numb's instructions and it works fine.
