Cataclysm inc, what now?

Hey all

I just got into the whole emulating process and I am wondering what effect cataclysm will have on private servers? I wasn't around in private servers to know what happend in TBC and WOTLK so does anyone have experience?

Me and my friends just setup a server and are wondering if we want to make it live, but is there any point if Cata is out in a month?

There's no point, to be honest.

When Cataclysm comes out, there will be no real support for it until a month or two after initial release, and even then it will be buggy and very incomplete. Anyone left playing WOTLK private servers will be on the select few popular ones, and any private server offering cataclysm (here comes the time of money - buying developers to be first) will have insane amounts of people trying to play on it.
