So wait, your MySQL server is on a separate computer than the computer MaNGOS is on.

On localhost you can connect, on the MaNGOS box you can't?

Is that correct?

everything is on same computer atm, im trying to make it public but i cant see what im doing wrong

If i read your post right the host name for navicat should be set to localhost. To go public you just need to change your realm config from 127.0.0.1 to you ip or host name. If i understand your post right. I never used mangos but know arc and trinity.
